Fourth Wing tells the story of Violet Sorrengail, a frail yet impossibly smart 20-year-old who is set to attend Basgiath War College in the mythical land of Navarre. On Conscription Day, aka the day when they’re assigned their Quadrant, Violet’s mother forces her to choose the most noble yet challenging option: becoming a dragon rider.

Iron Flame then begins after Violet’s managed to survive her first year at Basgiath against all the odds stacked against her. But, despite her growing skills, the challenges this year bring are more “grueling and maliciously brutal,” the description reads.

Lastly comes Onyx Storm, the third installment of the series, which was released earlier this year. The book follows Violet eighteen months into the Basgiath War College, when tensions have reached an all-time high.

As a result, she ventures out into unfamiliar lands to find allies. “The trip will test every bit of her wit, luck, and strength, but she will do anything to save what she loves―her dragons, her family, her home, and him.”
