Liv Tyler is making headlines for a hair transformation, but not for her own hair – for her son’s.
On Aug 30, the Lord of the Rings star shared a series of photos and videos of the family’s latest adventure. She shared the photos on Instagram with the caption reading, “Our sweet boy Sailor Gene was ready for a Transformation !!! 10 years of long golden locks …Back to school snip !!! ✂️ 💗 💗 ✂️ Thank you @adamcampbellhair.”
In the before and after photos, we see that Tyler’s son Sailor has undergone a huge hair transformation, chopping off his long blonde locks for a spiky buzzcut! It seems for the back-to-school season, Sailor is reinventing his image, and his mama couldn’t be more supportive. (We love to see it!)

For those who don’t know, Tyler has three children. She shares a son named Milo William, 20, with ex-husband Royston Langdon. Later, she welcomed two children with her husband David Gardner: a son named Sailor Greene, 10, and a daughter named Lula Rose, 8.
Back in the late 2000s, Tyler took a break from acting and modeling to focus on motherhood, and in a rare interview with People, she called the experience “transformational.” She said, “Getting pregnant and caring for a baby gave me a confidence I’d never had before. I really felt I’d done something well, and I can’t say that about anything else in my life.”
