Bindi Irwin’s Daughter Grace Discovers a ‘Real Dragon’ on a Family Adventure & Her Reaction Is Classic Toddler

When it comes to toddlers, unpredictability is about the only thing you can count on. (Well, that and heart-melting cuteness.) Bindi Irwin’s daughter Grace is the perfect example. The 4-year-old can entertain herself for hours playing with a clothesline, but show her a real-life dragon — and she couldn’t care less. In her defense, she does live in an actual zoo, but still! Irwin just posted the cutest video of a family adventure with her daughter meeting a dragon, and her reaction proves that all toddlers are basically the same.

Irwin, who shares Grace with husband Chandler Powell, posted a vlog of her family’s road trip up the east coast of Australia on YouTube. At one point, they visit the Chinese Garden of Friendship in Sydney, Australia. Grace leads the way with her long brown hair tied up in a ponytail as she power walks through the garden.

They went to see a dragon mosaic in the garden, which was a recommended spot to see by Bindi’s brother Robert Irwin. As they admire the colorful art, Powell says it’s “really pretty, and so are you” referring to his wife. She responds that he’s pretty too, and Grace, leaning over the water fountain in front of the mosaic, asks, “do you love each other?” making them laugh. She is over it, and it’s so funny!

Later, Powell exclaims, “We found a real dragon!” No, this isn’t an evil queen’s fire-breathing dragon from a Disney movie; it’s actually a water dragon, Australia’s largest dragon lizard.

“Oh my goodness, it is a real dragon! The majestic water dragon,” Irwin says as she zooms in on the creature basking in the sun on a picnic table. For her part, Grace is unimpressed. She walks up to the water dragon hand-in-hand with her dad. After looking at it for a few seconds, she walks back, already gazing at other things in the distance. Seeing a dragon barely held her attention, and yup! That’s a toddler for you.

Grace climbs stairs, already ready to move on, and Irwin comments, “I’m only ever filming the back of Grace’s head, because she’s always leading the way,” Irwin says with a laugh.

“Everywhere we go is a speed tour,” Powell jokes.

Grace hops down a stone path, glancing up only when her mom points out a waterfall. “OK, we saw it, keep going,” Bindi jokes, as Grace immediately turns her head back to continue walking.

She’s a determined little girl. And when there’s this much to see, who can blame Grace for wanting to go quickly?

The comments were full of love. Like one person, who wrote, “You need so much energy to follow a 4 year old around.” Yes, you do! Another wrote, “Very cool majestic water dragons! Yes kids are so energetic to see it all as fast as possible.” They definitely are…at least until the naptime crash-out happens.

Earlier this month, Grace showed off her sassy side while on a family trip to go strawberry picking. In a video shared to Instagram, Grace displays her “strong” muscles while holding the strawberry basket, then tells her mom that she is only “sometimes” strong. Another time, she picks a strawberry and her mom cheers, “Whoo! Champion strawberry picker!”

Grace looks at her and says, “Why are you saying that?” Kids are something else, aren’t they? We love how adorable, determined, sassy, and unimpressed Grace is.
